BadMoFoBloPoMo, The Sequel

You can blame the peeps over at NaBloPoMo.com for this questionable BadMoFoBloPoMo sequel. I got their email blast this past week in which they state that February is one of the most popular months for people to commit to blogging daily for a month.  They hypothesize that while yes, it is the shortest month, also "people like to complain about Valentine's Day and it takes them a entire month to get it off all their chest."

I've got nothing against Valentine's Day, other than it being yet another Hallmark-y overly commercialized archaic rites / early Christian celebration.  So while I am about to embark on another month of daily blogging (flogging?), it is not likely that I'll complain about VDay the whole time.  Maybe only once or twice.  :)

Yet again, I'm not quite sure what I'm going to write about the whole time, likely something will come to me. Even if maybe only a lone photo or some obscure quote that will leave you scratching your heads.  Basically, I might have to "phone it in" a few days, we'll see.  This post is pretty much half-assed in itself, and possibly no picture either.  Lame.

The recent wintry change in the weather down here conjures up that old swinging weather vane visual (oh hey, there's an idea), with Mary Poppins floating out of the clouds, all rosy cheeked and magical. I've got a wee twinge of excitement, an itch to do something...

In the Wheel of the Year, early February hosts Imbolc, a "cross-quarter" celebration, or the astronomical middle of winter. New beginnings, cleaning, preparations...  it's the procrastinators chance to make some future goals.  If you have tarot cards, whip 'em out and see what is coming.  In any case, spring IS on the way, no matter what that fool ground hog says in the morning!

However, tomorrow will be the second snow day in a row, full of "school's out" craziness, and as always I've got a shit ton of clean laundry to put away.  Hopefully my carpe diem attitude survives.  Might help if I go to bed now.
